Coach Bio's
The coaches are committed to providing TRI3 Sports clients with sound and proven training methods which will aid them in achieving their goals.
You benefit from our individualized approach to training, to ensure that all your hard effort goes directly into achieving your goals. We limit our number of clients so that you get the full amount of attention that you and your program deserve.Our attention to detail and performance through scientific analysis puts us on the cutting edge of fitness technology. We collect and translate technical data, using our knowledge of biomechanics, kinesiology, psychology and physiology, to determine your strengths, weaknesses, and training needs.
You will have access to our extensive experience in strength training, swimming, cycling, running, transitioning, stretching, nutrition, sports psychology, and racing. Our coaches have lived the sport, read the books, and got a few T-shirts in the process.
Combining analysis with experience and an in-depth knowledge of your needs and goals, our coaches will get the best from you to help you to realize your potential.

Coming from a National track and field background, Ian now focuses on coaching multisport athletes, marathon runners, as well as some international level athletes.
Ian is a Sports Fitness Specialist (NASM), certified Personal Trainer (CPT) in both the USA and Australia, a USA Triathlon Level II Coach, USA Cycling Level III Coach, and a ASCA Level II Swim Coach. Ian has advanced certifications in strength training, nutrition, and endurance training.
Ian recently stepped down as Regional President for USA Triathlon (Northeast Region), and holds an MBA (International Business/HRM) from Australia’s University of New England and a Bachelor of Business Degree from Curtin University.
Ian has always been involved in sports and fitness, focusing on multisport competition and coaching over the past 10 years. His philosophy is to provide highly unique and individualized physical fitness programs to help people attain their optimum physical fitness capability (flexibility, nutrition, muscular strength and endurance, and aerobic endurance). He has been formulating and implemented advanced personal fitness training programs for many years.

Frank has been working with and competing in the multisport field for the better part of 15 years. He has coached all levels of athletes from professional to newcomers in a variety of sports including triathlons, running, lacrosse and hockey. His approach is to train the mind as well as the body every step of the way. If the mind is not there, the body will not follow.
Frank has a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Bridgewater State. He holds his USAT Level I and USA Cycling Level III coaching certifications.
Frank has served the North East triathlon community as a member of the USAT Regional Board of Directors for three years. He was recently elected Vice Chairperson of the region.
Frank has been an athlete all of his life. He played national junior level hockey, cycled and played lacrosse growing up outside of Syracuse, NY. He currently resides, competes and coaches in the greater Boston area.

Lisa Overton (Assistant Coach) - Email Lisa

Lisa has over 12 years of running experience. She has completed 9 marathons (including Boston Marathon) and numerous other races ranging from 10K to Half Marathons.
She began participating in triathlons in 2005 and has completed 5 Half Iron Distance races and numerous shorter distances. Her passion for marathons and triathlons all started through TNT (Team In Training), which she has been involved with for over 10 years through either the Northern Florida or New York City Chapters.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University with a major in finance. Worked the last 10 years on Wall Street as a banker in New York City until the end of 2008. Prior to living in New York she worked for two local banks in Tallahassee and was on the Board of the local chapter for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Her philosophy in life is anyone at any age can accomplish anything if they put their mind to it and really want something bad enough!

Has been in the fitness industry for 20 years as a personal trainer. He participated in his first triathlon in 1985. Paul is co-author of the book Tri Flex, strength conditioning for the triathlete and has written over10 books and numerous articles on exercise and conditioning. Currently a Master Trainer at the JCC, NYC. He has trained both professional and novice athletes.
Paul is certified by ACE, ACSM as Health Fitness Instructor/Fitness Coach, C.H.E.K 1 and is a Medical Exercise Specialist. He also holds certifications as a USA Triathlon 1 and USA Cycling 3 coach.
Paul draws on his personal journey of becoming a Golden Gloves and Pacific Coast Diamond Belt Lt Heavy Boxing Champion to coach, develop, convey, encourage and inspire both new comers and experienced athletes of all ages. His philosophy is that triathlons should not only be fun and challenging but the participation in them should enhance and expand one’s horizons, both the physical and mental. When an individual decides to train for a triathlon they are choosing a positive lifestyle which will result in healthy benefits in all aspects of life.
